PSG 2022 Abstract Deadline Extended to December 3rd, 2021

PSG is extending the abstraction submission deadline to this Friday, December 3rd, 2021.

This means you have a few more days to to SUBMIT ABSTRACTS for the PSG 2022 Virtual Annual Meeting – Seabirds Unite! After that, we’ll start working on reviewing abstracts and putting together a program to share before early bird registration ends. So please keep sending in your abstracts for presentations and posters and let me know if you have any questions.

Abstract submission requires a formatted Word file. For information on how to prepare your abstract file, please see the Abstract Guidelines page on the event website HERE.

Once you view the guidelines, please visit the Abstract Manager portal to submit abstracts for posters and oral presentations HERE.

Remember – the Whova conference platform makes it easy to present live, submit a pre-recorded oral presentation, or upload pdfs, photos, and short videos with your poster presentation. PSG attendees last year found the virtual platform helpful for being able to access content when it was convenient for them. Please feel free to ask if you have questions about sharing your seabird research in a virtual format!

Please submit abstracts inspired by the topics below:

Special Paper Sessions:

  • Seabird Hot Topics: Lightning Round – speed talks, you pick the topic!
  • Community Participation and Engagement in Seabird Science
  • Seabirds and Indigenous Cultures
  • Seabirds as Indicators: Direct Connections – highlighting traceable pathways between environmental variables and seabird ecology
  • Middleton Island Mass Mortality Event

Standard Topics:

  • Behavior
  • Breeding Biology
  • Climate Change
  • Conservation Biology
  • Contaminants and Marine Debris
  • Fisheries
  • Foraging Ecology
  • Genetics
  • Management, Policy, and Planning
  • Non-breeding Biology
  • Physiology

Last year’s virtual meeting had our highest registration and engagement for PSG yet, and we are putting together another engaging virtual program. Please visit the main PSG 2022 website for more information and to register! Can’t wait to reunite!

Sincerely,

Rachel S. Sprague, Ph.D.
