South Georgia declared rat free!
After 10 years of planning and implementation for rat removal, the island is declared rodent free. See the South Georgia Heritage Trust (SGHT) for more information. Island Conservation also carried a great story about this incredible project. Island Conservation’s David Will – a digital mapping specialist – was loaned to the project to map the distribution of bait during application and ensure complete distribution and coverage.
