Request for help: ornithological society affinity group pilot survey

The Wilson Ornithological Society, the American Ornithological Society, the Association of Field Ornithologists, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Virginia Tech reached out to PSG to test a survey aimed at supporting diverse communities in ornithology.

As part of this project, they are surveying members of ornithological societies to collect insights that will be used to develop a process for co-creating and supporting affinity groups (a group of people linked by a common identity or experience, e.g., age, culture, faith, etc.) in ornithology. They are recruiting ornithologists to pilot test and provide feedback on a survey ultimately aimed at understanding and supporting ornithologists of all types. If you are able and interested in participating in this research, please follow this link.

The PSG EID committee co-coordinators are excited to help the AOS, WOS, and AFO in their research and eager to learn more on the potential for affinity groups in building equity, inclusion, and diversity efforts within our own society. If you are a member, please take about 10 minutes and complete the survey. There is additional information, including privacy and contact information, at the link and in the attached advertisement.

Please keep an eye out for our own demographic survey in the next few weeks and help us gather data on our EID efforts. Thank you for your time!
