Donate to Travel Awards Fund today!

Support students, early career scientists and non-US/Canada scientists to attend 2019 PSG Annual Meeting!  Donate by Noon on Mon 10 December.

Thursday 6 December 2018

Dear Pacific seabird enthusiasts,

I want to give you an update on our campaign to raise $10,000 for the Pacific Seabird Group travel awards. So far, we’ve raised $2750 in the first two days of the drive, but we still need your help. Most of these are small gifts – when many people donate, the support goes a long way!

Can you support these deserving applicants at a level that fits your budget?  Here are just some of the costs requested within travel award applications:
·       International flight to Kaua’i: $900
·       Flight from U.S. mainland to Kaua’i: $500
·       Member registration fee: $379
·       Shared lodging at Kauai Beach Resort: $331
·       Student registration fee: $199
·       Shuttle to/from the airport: $110
·       Banquet ticket: $35
·       Luggage fee: $25

·       Cheap dinner: $9

If everyone who subscribes to the PSG listserv gave $9, we could meet our goal today.
A commitment to science, education, and service are just three values PSG members share. We ask that you do more than listen to the conversation on the listserv – we ask that you take an active role in supporting our shared values.
There is one sure way you can send a signal to these applicants that you value their presence at the PSG Annual Meeting – donate now or by noon Dec 10th:
Foreign scientists and early-career scientists: PSG General Fund button
Students: PSG Student Travel Award button.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Dave
