PSG 2021 Call for Sessions!

There is one week left to submit your ideas and proposals for SymposiaSpecial Paper Sessions, and Workshops, and suggestions of Plenary Speakers for the 49th Annual PSG Meeting, 23-27 February 2021. Please fill out the form available here; Plenary Speaker submissions will be accepted via email. Deadline is September 18th!

The theme of the meeting is “Apart Together for Seabirds,” which reflects our steadfast commitment to seabirds, conservation, science and each other, in spite of the isolation and separation forced upon us by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

As you may already know, the 2021 meeting will be completely virtual and online.  A virtual meeting is an especially exciting opportunity to welcome colleagues who may have been restricted by the travel costs associated with in-person meetings. We hope to gain many new colleagues and friends this year across the expansive reaches of the Pacific Seabird Group. Please consider the meeting theme as well as other pertinent topics on seabird science, conservation, and recent events when considering ideas for session proposals. One of the proposed contributed paper sessions, “Social Distancing for Seabirds” would be a good venue to showcase projects that have continued or changed in response to the ongoing global pandemic. Discuss ideas with friends, colleagues, and future collaborators, but also consider pulling in someone from outside your habitual circle. Do you know a promising or established biologist who has not presented at our Annual Meeting? It’s a great way to gain practice communicating your ideas to colleagues, generate discussions, and form new collaborations that benefit us all. Please feel free to reach out to me for help in developing ideas or connecting with others.

Full announcement and submission details can be found here.
