This vacancy announcement is targeted for a position in the Ecosystems Branch* of the Sustainable Fisheries Division (SFD). This vacancy announcement is for a regulation writer/policy analyst with ESA-related duties. Specifically, this position would spend roughly half of their time serving as the Alaska Regional Office lead for seabird and fisheries interactions (i.e., seabird bycatch). The other half of their time would be dedicated to regulation writing/policy analysis, primarily on bycatch related actions that move through the North Pacific Fishery Management Council process.
*Although this vacancy announcement is targeted to a position in the Ecosystem Branch, it could be used to fill similar positions in SFD, like the Catch Shares or other Branches.
