Alaska Maritime NWR is filling a permanent GS-5/7/9 biologist position in Homer, Alaska. The incumbent will assist with a variety of duties to support this Refuge’s long-term seabird monitoring program (data projects, logistics, field work). Deadline to apply: 11/17/2022.
Alaska Maritime NWR is far flung and includes >2,500 islands around the entire coast of Alaska. Field work is on extremely remote islands and can be from 2 weeks to 4 months. In the office, the incumbent will assist senior biologists with data entry, counting birds on photographs, report writing, submitting banding records, packing for field projects, cleaning and repairing field gear, etc.

This position is only open to candidates eligible under special hiring authorities, not the general public. Eligible applicants include:
- Current USFWS permanent employees
