2022 Student Research Grant Selections

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2022 Student Research Grants! The Awards Committee had a difficult decision between many qualified applicants.

After much deliberation, the awardees are:

  • Olivia Fross, Bachelor’s student at University of Puget Sound, for “Population Dynamics and Trends of an Endangered Seabird: Breeding Tufted Puffins (Fratercula cirrhata) in Washington State”
  • Kamya Patel, Master’s student at University of Aukland, for “Plastic Ingestion: A Sensory Ecology Approach”
  • Katie Stoner, PhD student at Oregon State University, for “Assessing Pre-breeding Diet of Tufted Puffins Throughout Their North American Range Using Eggshell Membrane Stable Isotopes”

Kudos and felicitations to you all! For any student interested in applying for Student Research Grants in the future, please see the PSG website for more information or contact me directly.

Sincerely,

PSG Past Chair
